112. Scoma’s

This restaurant is a landmark, a tried and true spot for taking out-of-town guests who can not get enough of the charm of Sausalito or the views of San Francisco and the boats on the Bay. So, this is where I took my dad today when he got into town, and we had a lovely meal surrounded by people speaking many languages, all of them wearing big smiles and carrying cameras. I was even asked to take a photo of two friends leaning together at a table, clearly having a very special time.

We really got lucky, just walked in at about 1:15 and had about a 10 minute wait, and then got a waterfront table. I got to give the tour-guide’s monolog about the sights looking out, including Angel Island, Alcatraz, the ferries, and the Bay Bridge construction.

So, when you’ve got out-of-town visitors, and we’re not socked in with fog, definitely keep Scoma’s on the list for a nice meal on the touring list.
