If you’ve ever wondered about that foreign game called cricket, there’s an easy way to find out all about it, and have a lot of fun at the same time. At this time of the year, the Marin Cricket Club plays its weekly matches at Miller Field in Piper Park on Saturdays and Sundays. Check their schedule ahead of time because they’re not there on both days every weekend.
The players come in uniform, all whites and very preppy looking, and are very happy to tell you all about the game. It’s fun to watch it up close, since most of us who have seen it at all have watched on a television monitor during a world sports round-up of the day.
They also have three levels of teams, depending on level of experience and commitment to this activity. They are always looking for new members, regardless of experience and will definitely take and train newbies.
