140. Tennis at Centennial Park

Larkspur’s Centennial Park was renovated a few years ago and the result is pretty much pristine courts available for players. Also in incredibly nice condition are the viewing stands for watching the matches, picnic tables for snacks or drinks or reading while waiting for a court to open up, and the landscaping surrounding the courts.

To give access to as many players as possible, there are two pages of rules posted that most people pretty much abide by.  A couple of important rules are that players under 18 have priority on the courts weekdays before 5:00 but 18+ year-olds have priority after 5:00 and on weekends and holidays. Further, your waiting line position is determined by the arrival time of a second player. My advice for a sunny day or warm evening is bring some reading material because you might be in for a wait. And, finally, Larkspur and Corte Madera residents have priority over all others.

Where: Corner of Magnolia and Alexander Avenues, Larkspur, CA 94939 (map)

Hours: Dawn to Dusk (courts are not lighted)
