Downtown Larkspur’s 22nd annual Flower and Food Festival is this Sunday, May 29th, from 11:00 – 6:00. A few blocks of Magnolia Avenue as well as short bits of a few side streets will be closed off to traffic and filled with booths of all sorts. The theme is flowers, but you’ll find that it’s loosely adhered to by many of the vendors who, nevertheless, have a wonderful variety of artwork, handicrafts, specialty food items, clothing, accessories, etc.
On the food front, there will be many delicious offerings for all tastes, including perennial favorite participating restaurants Ward Street Cafe and Petaluma’s Back Yard Barbecue.
The firehouse will be the site of the flower and produce displays, where anyone can bring their best flowers, fruits and vegetables to display. Go to the Kid’s Corner for the “jumpy” and face painting.
There’s also a full day of really good music line-up:
- The Marin Community Choir
- Doc Kraft (good dance band)
- James Moseley Band (Mo Town, R&B, Jazz – a regular favorite at a number of Marin venues)
- Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers (Classic Jazz & Blues Band) closing the day.
