Two cities are celebrating this weekend with festivals. Fairfax, as I’ve already blogged about in post #157, and Novato, which has its 2-day art, wine and music festival. Novato’s is focused on wining and dining and entertaining folks, while also serving as a fundraiser for their local businesses and Chamber of Commerce.
The festival will take place on historic Grant Avenue, the heart of the old downtown district which has been nicely upgraded over the years and has a real charm to it. They always get a huge turn-out, with 55,000 expected Saturday adn 35,000 Sunday. And, with the weather forcast warm and sunny, they’ll probably see that easily, as we’re all looking for things to do outdoors.
There is amazing art there – from fine print to silk ties. They’ve also got two stages going both days with bands playing throughout the day on both days. Check out the line up above or go to their Facebook page for more details.
Bike riding is encouraged. Sustainable Novato will also have a free, monitored Bicycle Corral at the corner of 1st and Grant, to park your bikes and have immediate access to the festival.
