191. Gestalt Haus

You gotta love Gestalt Haus for its uniqueness alone. I mean, where else have you found a cafe with indoor, wall-mounted bike racks, and another wall of shelving stacked to the ceiling with board games and books?! It is the ideal re-fueling spot for a Marin County bike ride, with a wide variety of beers and sausages, and long tables for groups of friends to gather ’round.

The atmosphere is loud and lively, with rock music playing and lots of laughing going on. There’s a nice variety of clientele, including plenty of non-bike riders, from the young to the no longer so sprightly, but in true Fairfax fashion, it’s all cool and very laid back.

The sausages are all good, but my favorite is the Bockwurst (classic). They grill both the sausages and the buns – nice! Prices, by the way, are great.
