During the Summer months, there’s a great weekly film event that is held at rotating venues throughout Central and Southern Marin. It’s called Film Night, and it’s a Friday or Saturday night showing of a feature film on a big screen in a park. The films range from 1942’s black and white romance Casablanca to 2010’s documentary Gasland. This Friday is Despicable Me, last year’s animated comedy about an aging supervillain, shown at the San Geronimo Community Center.
A really nice aspect to this event is that it the cost is really low, just $6.00/adult and $3.00/child. And they are just “suggested” prices, so you have the option of contributing more or coming even if the ticket prices aren’t doable for you.
The majority of shows are screened in San Anselmo in Creek Park with a few in San Francisco and one more this season in Mill Valley. Check the online schedule for dates, films and locations.
