If you had put off getting tickets to the Marin Theatre Company’s performance of August Wilson’s Seven Guitars, or thought you were too late, you’re in luck. The show has been so popular and ticket sales so strong that they’ve extended the run by eight performances through Sunday, September 11th.
August Wilson was one of the most important African American playwrights of the 20th century, and is known for his Pittsburgh Cycle, a series of 10 plays about the African American experience, each covering a decade of the last century. Seven Guitars is the play covering the 40’s. Wilson won two Pulitzer Prizes for Drama for the Pittsburgh Cycle.
This production has gotten extremely high praise from numerous critics across the country.
