Today is the soft-opening of PinUp, the new and fabulously artsy hair-styling, personal accessories and art galleria on 4th Street, San Rafael. The owner, Becky de la Rosa, brings her artistic talent and love for all things local, organic and green to her wonderful new salon and boutique. The space she has created is incredibly colorful, fun and welcoming, without being overwhelming. She started with an empty shell and poured herself into this creation for the past three months – with incredible results!
Her boutique offers hand-crafted jewelry, personal accessories and art from Bay Area artisans, as well as vintage pieces she finds. Her vintage wares include jewelry, dishware and serving pieces. Today, after having my hair cut, I picked up a pair of gorgeous little red and black teardrop earings (the price was amazing, by the way).
PinUp will soon offer manicures, pedicures and esthetician services. It will also be on the 2nd Fridays Art Walk, with its featured art galleria and artist present to share about their art. Becky also has plans to coordinate with other local businesses for parties featuring their locally-produced wares and products. She envisions PinUp as a lively, artistic hub where people stop in to receive all of their personal care services, as well as enjoying the art and perusing the hand-crafted goods on offer.
