293. The Boathouse

I had lunch at The Boathouse in Tiburon recently with a good friend and enjoyed a lot about it, including how they’ve transformed the space from what used to be Sweden House. The Boathouse sits right on Main Street, with a small but nice outdoor deck over the water out back and with the sailboats at the Corinthian Yacht Club and the views of the City beyond giving it great atmosphere and appeal. It is perfect on a sunny day because it stays quite protected from the wind but gets a lot of sun.

When the weather’s not sunny, the interior is still beautiful and welcoming, and I always love to see a restaurant with a case displaying the baked goods. I definitely end up ordering more desserts at these places!

Speaking of food – it’s wonderful here. Their weekday breakfasts offer all of the things I love on a breakfast menu – pastries and omelettes and granola. Their lunch menu always has a delicious homemade soup, and a nice variety of non-standard salads and sandwiches, which come beautifully presented.  They add brunch items to Saturday and Sunday’s breakfast and lunch menus, including blueberry pancakes and eggs benedict.

Dinner is only served Thursday – Sunday, and has a relatively limited menu, but the choices include some favorites like the Boathouse burger and a dish of each meat type, so it has something for every palate!
