353. Blue Bird Yarn

When you entering Blue Bird Yarn you are met with an explosion of color and wonderful softness. The shelves stacked high with skeins of yarn in a riot of color and textures, all of which say “touch me”. Books of patterns are displayed alongside, showing photos of gorgeous knitted clothes, blankets, and decorative fabric items, all enticing you to choose the yarns that, along with knitting needles or crochet hooks can bring them into being.

The shop is very cozy, from the charming cottage exterior to the antique armchairs set around a coffee table in living room fashion. The owner is warm and welcoming, and encourages browsing through the magazines while comfortably relaxed in an armchair.

Social knitting and crocheting groups are offer twice a month, and instructional classes at different levels and for different items are offered as well. In just two classes you can be knitting a scarf, then it’s on to specialized classes in hats, sweaters, baby booties, to name a few. Check their calendar for the schedule.
