Habitat Gardening – Native Plants for Native Creatures is the theme of the presentation by naturalist Charlotte Torgovitsky on Thursday, February 18, 1pm at the Outdoor Art Club, One West Blithedale, Mill Valley.
She will talk about beautiful Marin, the different plant communities, and the new paradigm in gardening which is creating gardens that are alive with natural beauty and provide sanctuary and enhanced resources for bees, butterflies and birds.
Ms. Torgovitsky is President of the Marin chapter of the California Native Plant Society and will talk about the work of that organization. She is also founder of Home Ground Habitat Nursery and will discuss the plants that are grown there to donate to schools, community gardens, and to support the Native Plant Society. Nancy Bauer, author of The California Wildlife Habitat Garden will accompany Ms. Torgovitsky and offer her books for sale.
