In a short period of time this very hip bar/restaurant has become quite the scene in Fairfax. I had lunch with two friends yesterday who both concurred that it’s a great place to go for drinks and dinner, and gets really lively – and loud. But loud is good when it’s the evening and you’re ready to leave your work day behind and relax with friends with a nice drink and a rewarding meal.
Their tag line is “artisan wine, beer & food” and they have put together a really great selection of wines and beers. The wines are almost exclusively Californian with a couple of French sparkling wines. And the beer line is also extensive with both tap and bottled, and three hard ciders. The wines and ciders are also available as flights.
The food is definitely not an afterthought. The menu features local “artisan” products (whenever possible), changes seasonally, and is deliciously put together.
The interior is open, modern and filled with light, whether it’s daytime and pouring in through the all-glass front or the evening when it’s sparkling with suspended incandescents.
Parking is pretty easy, because it’s not right downtown, and it’s across from the park, so there are usually spots pretty close by. They don’t take reservations, but if you call before you come in, they’ll try to save you a spot.
